Congo (Kinshasa)

On 17 May 1997, Zaire informed the UN that it had changed its name to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (UNH, 2002, p. 17).

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DROC) was also formerly known as Belgian Congo, Congo-Leopoldville, and Congo-Kinshasa.
